Visual identity and menu design for a James Beard Semifinalists, et al.

Collaborated directly with the James Beard Semifinalist chefs, et al., to illustrate and design a design system as meaningful and intentional as the dinner experience they serve. Custom illustrations were developed to create a unique asset library to be used across all mediums for marketing and elevated dining experiences.

Menu with Meaning

All pieces of a meal are like a pieces of a puzzle to create the full picture/experience. With a meal meant to be shared, each menu connects through wrap-around design so you’ll need more than one to look at it.

Seasonal Series

The program spans 3 months, with a rotating special ingredient being featured. I wanted to include these prominently so diners knew there was a change to the menu to continue coming back for more!

Deliverables

  • Creative Concepting

  • Custom illustrations. Pencil illustrations I drew for the handcrafted, delicate feel, digitized for wider use on collateral.

  • Website banner

  • 2x Menus (first month’s showcasing blueberries, second peaches), designed to be tucked into napkin as part of dinner presentation

  • T-shirt design

Aesthetic

Clean, black and white, with a little bit of grit like it has been on the grill. I wanted to present upscale, humble, and complement all the colors on the table.

Chef’s Kiss

The 2 main flowers represent the head chefs: @denim_ch1cken and @_sam.luna_. Representing their hometowns, these flowers stand together to make something even more bountiful for @etal.tulsa.
