2020

Designing a professional soccer franchise for the modern Tulsa, OK.

As the Head of Marketing and Brand for the team formerly known as the Tulsa Roughnecks, I was carrying a large responsibility to create an entirely new brand AND space for the growing Tulsa soccer culture. Hired to the team in November of 2019, I hit the ground running with the 4 other members of senior leadership to give birth to FC Tulsa. A team rooted in using sport as a platform for community connection and entertainment.

Overseeing all the public and partner-facing brand touchpoints, were able to launch the following to the supporters in as little as 2.5 months:

Brand Story

Visual Identity

Complete with a new logo, colors, typefaces, brand guide, and assets.

Merch Storefront

Built from the ground up

Creative Direction

Work with internal teams and external local agencies to develop a launch video and the club’s inaugural media day. This content helped us launch an impactful social media strategy and carry us into our inaugural season.

Town Halls

For supporters, community members, and staff.

Marketing Strategy

Develop relationships with local media outlets, partners, and community members for earned and paid media strategies. Including billboards, radio, OTT, print, digital, and more.

Staffing Plan + Hiring

For marketing, brand, advertising, data and analytics, and club’s internship program

Digital Touchpoints

Utilizing the league’s required website host, we designed the updated site using the updated stories, branding, and back-end analytics to create a foundation for success. Brand and launch a transition for website, socials, partner links, etc.

Sponsor Fulfillment

Internal Workflows

Setting up creative request processes, automatic reporting, weekly meetings, intern programs, and communication channels for interdepartmental teams to stay updated on priorities and progress.
